Marcia Bullock, BscPT, GunnIMS, Certified in Medical Acupuncture, Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist

Marcia received her degree at the University of Alberta in Edmonton in 1996, and in 2001 she returned to the U of A to complete her certification in Medical Acupuncture. Marcia has had a varied career in Physiotherapy but her main focus has always been treating injuries in athletes both competitive and recreational.

Over the past 21 years, Marcia has taken numerous post graduate courses related to the treatment of orthopedic injuries. Every course has helped to broaden the scope of her practice. Most recently she completed the Gunn IMScourse allowing her to practice Intramuscular Stimulation which is a needling technique to help with pain associated with tight muscle bands. Marcia is also trained in SFMA (Selective Functional Movement Assessment) and the NKT level 1 (Neurokinetic Therapy). Marcia has a very hands on approach to treatment and she also incorporates her treatment with specific exercises to help assist with recovery and improve overall function.

Outside the Office

Marcia has spent many years working on the sidelines of a variety of sports. She has worked with a number of professional athletes playing in the NHL, CFL, PGA, Australian Rules Football, Rugby Union and Rugby League to name a few. There are always opportunities to volunteer at sporting events in the community, nationally, and inter- nationally. Recently, she enjoyed working as a volunteer at the McKenzie PGA golf tournament and the Futures Pro Tennis tournament. She is the Physiotherapist for the Kelowna Crows and the Kelowna Roosters Rugby teams. Marcia has been a physiotherapist for the Pursuit of Excellence Hockey Academy since 2008.

Marcia and her husband Chuck have 2 daughters (Ryley and Bradee). The girls are involved in a wide range of sports and activities ( too many to list). Together they ski in the winters and camp in the summers. In her free time Marcia enjoys playing hockey, soccer and the rare game of golf. Life is very busy but very fun.
