As spine, muscle, and nervous system experts, chiropractors provide qualified, effective treatment to promote health, alleviate pain, and improve your quality of life.

Chiropractors focus on your spine, muscle, and nervous system and treat the bones, muscles, soft tissues, and joints that you use every day. The spine, muscle, and nervous system supports your weight, keeps your body stable, protects your organs, and keeps you moving. It also connects directly to other vital systems in your body, which is why medical professionals, researchers, and the wider health community trust the spine care expertise of chiropractors to assess, diagnose, and treat conditions and injuries related to the spine, muscle, and nervous system. For optimal health and quality of life, a chiropractor should be part of every Canadian’s healthcare team.

At Orchard Chiropractic & Physiotherapy, our experienced chiropractors are skilled in the use of multiple techniques which allows them to be flexible to address each patient’s needs in a way that best suits their case.  As such, we are able to provide effective healthcare solutions for a large variety of conditions.  Infant to senior, professional athlete to weekend warrior, we’ve got your back!

At Orchard Chiropractic & Physiotherapy we offer the following techniques and procedures:

Diversified Adjustments

After identifying which vertebrae have lost their normal motion or position, a specific manual thrust is applied to free up “stuck” spinal joints.

Thompson Drop Adjustments

Thompson Drop technique uses a special table that reduces the amount of energy needed to adjust your spine.

Activator Methods® Low Force Adjustments

This is a system of spinal evaluation combined with a handheld adjusting instrument that delivers a consistent, low-force thrust.  This is a great technique for cases where less force is warranted, or for individuals who are anxious of their joints “popping”.

RPW Shockwave Therapy

RPW (Radial Pressure Waves) Shockwave Therapy is an effective and non-invasive treatment solution for many stubborn musculoskeletal conditions.  With virtually no side effects, this treatment method reduces pain and increases blood circulation to stimulate healing.  By speeding up the recovery process, Shockwave Therapy enables our patients to regain the joy and comfort of natural mobility.  To learn more, go to our Shockwave Therapy page.

Graston Technique®  / Instrument Assisted Soft-Tissue Mobilization (IASTM)

Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization, or simply IASTM,  is a tool-assisted manual therapy technique which enables clinicians to efficiently treat a variety of soft tissue injuries and conditions.  IASTM is performed with ergonomically designed instruments that detect and treat fascial restrictions, encourage rapid localization, and effectively treat areas exhibiting soft tissue fibrosis (scar tissue), chronic inflammation, or degeneration.

Active Release Techniques (ART®)

Active Release is a soft tissue system/movement based massage technique that treats problems with muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia and nerves. These 500+ protocols, allow the practitioner to identify and correct problems that are affecting each individual patient.
Headaches, back pain, carpal tunnel symptoms, shin splints, shoulder pain, sciatica, plantar fasciitis, knee problems, and tennis elbow are just a few of the many conditions that can be treated, improved or resolved with ART.

Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA)

The Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA) is a series of 7 full-body movement tests designed to assess fundamental patterns of movement such as bending and squatting in those with known musculoskeletal pain. The assessment logically breaks down dysfunctional patterns, thereby pinpointing the root cause as a mobility problem or a stability/motor control problem. Depending on the results, manual therapies or corrective exercises will be used as treatment.
